Fireside Craft-Art Show

Visit Unicoi State Park in Helen, Georgia on February 18 and 19, 2012 from 10 AM to 5 PM for the 37th annual Fireside Craft/Art Show. This event is an indoor juried art show with more than 60 of the Southeast’s finest artists and crafters participating in the Unicoi tradition. It offers a nice balance of fine art and quality crafts and has a admirable reputation of excellence.

2011 Wearable Art Fashion Show

Make plans to attend the Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts 3rd annual Wearable Art Fashion Show in Helen, Georgia on September 17, 2011. This fashion show will be held at Bernies Restaurant and Nacoochee Valley Guest House from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM. See needlework and jewelry from artists all around Atlanta, Georgia as well as the Northeast Georgia mountains.

Admission is $24 per person and lunch will be provided by Bernie’s. The luncheon and show will begin at 12:30 PM.

The menu for lunch is as follows:

Cantaloupe with port wine, a cold soup
Salad with your choice of grilled chicken or shrimp, dressing on the side
Muffin or scone
Indian Summer dessert
Tea and water
Wine will be available for an extra fee

Valley Harmony Radio Show

MicrophoneThe Sautee Nacoochee Community Association (SNCA) will hold the Valley Harmony Radio Show on February 19 and 20, 2011. Bob Prim and the Radio Utility Players among other special guests will debut a variety show with skits, jokes, music, commercials, and much more. A meal will be available before each show. Make reservations for the meal and get a guaranteed seat for the show. Call 706-878-3300 to make your reservations.

The meal being served is Baked Spaghetti with mozzarella and parmesan, Salad, Fresh Bread, Tea or Water, and a dessert of cookies.
Tickets for the meal are $8 for adults, $4 for children 6 – 12, under 6 are free.
Dinner begins at 6 PM on Saturday, February 19. Showtime is at 8 PM.
Lunch begins at 12 Noon on Sunday, February 20. Showtime is at 2 PM.

The variety show is free. A hat (or boot) will be passed.

36th Annual Fireside Arts and Craft Show

Painter's PaletteMore than 60 of the southeast’s finest artists will be displaying their creations at the 36th Annual Fireside Arts and Craft Show at the Unicoi State Park on February 19 – 20, 2011 from 10 AM to 5 PM. Mountain High Art Exhibit

Helen Arts and Heritage will have a new art exhibit called “Mountain High” in their gallery beginning on February 3, 2011 and running through March 27, 2011. They will begin the “Mountain High” exhibit with a reception on February 3, 2011 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Art will be displayed from the top winners of the White County School’s Youth Art Competition.

The gallery is open to the public and admission is free so stop by and see all the beautiful artwork on display. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday, 12 Noon to 4 PM. For more information and details, call 706-878-3933.

Fashion Show Luncheon

The Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts (GHAA) is hosting a Fine Arts and Crafts Fashion Show/Luncheon on January 22, 2011 at 12 Noon. The luncheon will be held at Bernie’s Restaurant in Sautee, Georgia. Artists of GHAA will be mingling throughout the luncheon modeling the wearable art – scarves, jewelry, hats, shawls, and purses created by Georgia artists. All art will be available for sale at the end of the luncheon.

The cost of the luncheon is $15 (advance purchase by January 20) or $20 (at the door) and includes your choice of a Monte Cristo sandwich or a Veggie Quiche, soup, drink and dessert. For more information, call 706-865-3337.
