Christmas Holiday Hike

The Benton MacKaye Trail Association invites you to take pleasure in a hike from Helen to the Unicoi State Park Lodge and back on December 18, 2010. This hike is an easy/moderate 6 mile round trip. Meet at Unicoi City Hill Park at 9:30 AM. Hike 3 miles to the Unicoi Lodge where you can partake in a buffet lunch or you can bring your own. Join the Muddy Spokes Club

Mountain BikeThe Muddy Spokes Club is a fun way to get fit and enjoy the great outdoors while riding your mountain bike through many of the Georgia State Parks. There are an abundant amount of bike trails ranging from very easy to very challenging throughout many Georgia State Parks and as part of the Muddy Spokes Club, you have every reason to enjoy them! The membership is just $10.

The way the club works is once you join, you will receive a card. Load up your bike, helmet and gear and head off to one of the 11 participating state parks. Ride the designated trail. Once you complete the trail, go to the visitor’s center and get your card punched. Once you have completed the trails and get your card punched at all 11 parks, send it in and get a t-shirt stating your accomplishments to the world!
